The Lion's Club Hosts Sarah Hilkert Rodriguez, MD MPH

We have an important speaker that meets our Lion’s Mission. Our speak is Sarah Hilkert Rodriguez, MD MPH.  Dr. Rodrguez is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago.  She is the principle investigator for the University of Chicago’s involvement in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group.  Dr. Rodriquez has completed several medical mission trips to Ghana and Nicaragua and has participated in ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity) workshops in Vietnam and South Africa.  Dr. Rodriquez graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame, was an honor student at Ohio State Medical School, and received a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.  She is actively involved in a program dedicated to preventing the next anticipated wave of ROP in Sub-Saharan Africa called SIBA (Stop Infant Blindness in Africa).
