To advance the health and quality of life for residents via improved air, water, and land quality.

Given our location in the heart of the Indiana Dunes, the town of Ogden Dunes and its citizens appreciate the area’s unique ecosystem and the quality of life it affords. We are deeply committed to preserving and enhancing the natural resources of our town. Neighboring industries require constant monitoring, communication, and partnering in service of protecting our air, water, and land resources. We seek to employ voluntary, and occasionally mandatory measures for improving the health of our residents and maximizing the quality and harmony of our environment.

  • Advise the Town Council regarding relevant environmental concerns and impacts.

  • Inform and empower residents with knowledge and tools to enhance environmental stewardship.

  • Share environmental concerns with region industries, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), and USEPA.

  • Monitor beach water quality from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Members of the Environmental Advisory Board are appointed to three-year terms by the Town Council. Appointments are staggered so that terms expire in successive years. The no-political-affiliation rule applies to the Environmental Advisory Board for Ogden Dunes.

Third Wednesday of every month.
