Brush and Leaf Guidelines

Dear Ogden Dunes Residents,

Please be advised the last week for brush and leaf pick will be the week of November 27th.  Any brush and leaves placed out for collection after that week will not be collected until operations resume next March.  We encourage you to place any brush and leaves for collection in a timely manner.  Rake and place leaves for collection as they fall.  Other options for fallen leaves, besides placing for collection are, mowing leaves, composting at your residence, discarding in wooded areas on your property, or placed in your trash buggy.  As a reminder, brush piles and limbs cannot exceed 5 feet in length and piles should not be more than 4 feet in tall.  Grass clipping should not be placed loose on the street.  Grass clippings, if collected, should be placed in your trash buggy or in a paper bag placed out for collection.  Small piles of sticks and leaves may be placed in your trash buggy.  This helps expedite brush and leaf collection operations.  Thank you for your cooperation as we would like to have everything collected before the snow begins to fall.

Also, the next Household Hazardous Waste collection will be held on October 14th 9am-2pm at the Porter County Expo 215 E Division, Valparaiso (Enter at Gate3).  Please see www.portercountyrecycling.org for information on accepted items.

Thank you,

Ogden Dunes Street and Water Department
